Adult Education Resources and Lab
The adult education lab offers students the chance to improve their basic skill levels in math, reading, English and high school equivalency. The lab has a series of self-paced computer tutorial programs that will enhance students’ skill levels. In addition, students can receive one-on-one tutoring as well as assistance in navigating the computer programs.
Internet Resources
Adult Basic Ed – All Internet based. Choose a subject to access chapter outlines, vocabulary flashcards, quizzes and Web links for reading, social studies, writing, science and math. Also has a practice test.
Quick Guides and Learning Links
4 Tests.com – Free online practice exams. Five subject area tests and a chart showing the time scheduled for each part of the high school equivalency exam.
PBS Literacy Link – Registration is free. Has test-taking tips, Learner Resources (links) and more. Thirty-nine modules and subject tests.
Free-Ed.Net – Has 74 study units completed as no charge online class doing three units per month. E-mail and chat rooms connect classmates and instructor. Classes start monthly.

KET Kentucky Educational Television – Good site for students and instructors. Has a sections about math, writing and critical thinking.
The Internet Public Library – Links, links and more links!! Wonderful site arranged by subjects; Reference information, books and magazines online, special areas for kids and teens.
My Skills Tutor – (Home or Learning Center access) provides Internet interactive help with reading, language, math, writing, science, and study skills. Students may ask any Learning Center tutor to enter them into the program. After students are entered into the system, they may access this extensive program from any Internet connected computer.
English Grammar – This Web site is very detailed in all aspects of writing. Whether it is ENC 0001, 0021, 1101, or 1102, this site covers, in detail, the three main levels of writing: sentence, paragraph, and essay. Punctuation and actual development (i.e. brainstorming) are all addressed. A good site for individuals beginning their writings. Great search engine!
Math – Extensive site with explanations, formulae, and examples of math including basic, algebra, trig, and calculus.
